Marin CROP Hunger Walk

The 21st annual Marin CROP Hunger Walk will occur this year at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 11 starting and ending at the First Presbyterian Church of San Rafael, 1510 Fifth Avenue. Locally sponsored by the Marin Interfaith Council, the Marin CROP Hunger Walk raises funds for Church World Service, and for two local organizations:  St. Vincent de Paul Dining Room, and the Marin Interfaith Street Chaplaincy. The Marin walk is one of over 1300 CROP walks held around the country each year.

You can help by walking with us!  Last year we had over 125 people who participated in the walk, representing twenty organizations and congregations in the County.  The walk, which goes through downtown San Rafael, is a good opportunity for friends, colleagues, and family to enjoy a Sunday afternoon outing and to take a stand in support of the hunger and needy in our area and around the world. Our goal this year is to raise $22,000.  This will be the 21st annual Marin Hunger Walk!

You can get more information by coming to the Marin CROP Hunger Walk Rally which will be held on Feb. 11 at 1 p.m. at the walk location, First Presbyterian Church of San Rafael.  Here you will meet other team leaders, learn more about how to recruit team members and get contributions, and use the resources available from our website, www.crophungerwalk.org/sanrafaelca. Don’t wait for the Rally to register your team on the website!

Participants in the walk can get a 2018 Marin CROP Walk tee-shirt.  Each year these shirts become collector items and include the names of local businesses and sponsors of the Marin walk.  If you know of a business which might be interested in serving as a sponsor, please contact them or give me the contact information. Business sponsorships begin at $100.  Non-profit organizations and congregations can become sponsors by contributing $50 to the Marin Interfaith Council, designated for the Marin Hunger Walk.  We need to have sponsor contributions received by Feb. 11 in order to include your name on the tee-shirt.
