Bio: Sister Elizabeth Padilla is the Co-Director of the Brahma Kumaris Anubhuti Meditation and Retreat Center in North Marin and serves on the US Brahma Kumaris National Coordinating Team (NCT). Sr. Elizabeth grew up in the Bay Area and studied Classical Theatre and the Performing Arts. Early in her career, she felt disenchanted by the stage and began searching for authenticity and meaning. Then in 1985, she was led to the doors of the Brahma Kumaris in San Francisco. After meeting senior Yogini Dadi Janki, Sister Elizabeth knew she had come home and began an incredible journey of self-discovery, service, and pure love. She moved into the San Francisco Center in 1986 where she developed skills in teaching, facilitating, and designing programs.
In 2004 Sister Elizabeth led the Development Planning Team to renovate and open the Anubhuti Retreat Center in Novato, California. As Facilities and Program Manager, she used her spiritual training, love for God, and theatrical creativity to serve the community. She has given many lectures, facilitated many workshops, retreats, and events while at Anubhuti. In 2016 she toured with a one-woman performance called Songs of My Soul. In 2017-18 Sister Elizabeth toured 18 cities with internationally renowned speaker, BK Sister Shivani, sharing her gift of song. In 2018 she was honored to be the master of ceremonies and perform at the International Conference: Future Vision for a World in Transition at the Siri Fort Auditorium, Delhi, India, for 20,000 people.
