On Sunday, December 7th, the Dominican Sisters of San Rafael celebrated 175 years of mission and service to the community. Over 200 people gathered to worship and view displays and videos of the work that they have done for the past 175 years. The Marin Interfaith Council was represented by the Rev. Lynn Oldham Robinett and a table full of information, including a flyer with images of the five Dominican Sisters who have served on the MIC Board since its founding: Sister Katherine Hamilton, O.P., Sister Marion Irvine, O.P., Sister Colleen McDermott, O.P., Sister Joan Hanna, O.P., & our current board member, Sister Patricia Bruno, O.P. (A meditation book inspired by Star Trek was a big hit, and if you are interested in a copy, please let Lynn know).

It was wonderful seeing the many community members, faith communities and organizations that came out to celebrate these wonderful women in our midst and to recognize the many years of faithful service through action that they have spent in the Marin community and beyond. MIC thanks them for their witness and collegiality in faith to all faith traditions our midst. Congratulations!
